To create a neat finish at the end of a thread, thread the needle under around six or seven stitches on the back of the canvas under some previously placed stitches. Do not pull the wool too tightly. Cut off the remaining thread close to the back of your work so you do not leave a tail. Be careful not to cut any stitches or the canvas itself.
