Setting Your Stitching Goals for 2025

Setting Your Stitching Goals for 2025

There’s no time like the fresh start of a new year to reflect on your prior accomplishments and set goals for the next 12 months! At Elizabeth Bradley, ours, of course, involve aspirations for upcoming needlepoint projects and milestones. If you’d like to make your own stitching-related resolutions, read on for a few of our suggestions!

Learn a new stitch

Whilst the majority of the kits on our website utilise Victorian Cross Stitch, we do offer several designs that use different stitching methods! Our Kirk & Bradley for Elizabeth Bradley kits, as well as all kits from Needlepoint To Go, are made using the Basketweave Stitch. This technique is made up of tent stitches that move diagonally across the canvas, which keeps the tension even as you work. Your kit will include a full set of instructions, but you can also watch the stitch in action here, visit our website for free educational resources, or reach out to us directly with any questions!

Complete a large project

Once you have a few kits under your belt, there’s no limit to what you can create! If you’re still relatively new to stitching, go from starter and mini kits to a full-size design. Seasoned stitchers can try their hand at a classic Victorian bell pull, or combine several large kits into a carpet. If you’re feeling especially ambitious, you can even finish the carpet yourself. Our master joining class will help you perfect this process to form a breathtaking large-scale piece.

Stitch with others

There’s nothing we love more than sharing the joy of needlepoint with others! Not only is it a great way to spend quality time together, but you can share ideas, give tips and tricks, and offer plenty of encouragement. This year, invite your friends and family to embark on their own stitching journey along with you. You can also join our online community of needlepointers from all over the world!
