Starting your first needlepoint kit requires a bit of preparation and practise, but soon you’ll be on your way to hours of stitching enjoyment. Before you begin your inaugural project, read the guide below to familiarise yourself with some common needlepoint tools and techniques.

Supplies to stock up on

Elizabeth Bradley needlepoint kits include a number of supplies to set you up for stitching success. In addition to your canvas, you’ll receive a needle, needle threader, printed chart of your design, colour code card, and high-quality Elizabeth Bradley wool. You may also find additional accessories useful, such as organisers, scissors, magnifiers, and extra needles. 

Stitches to learn

A nod to our British heritage, all Elizabeth Bradley kits are designed to be worked in Victorian Cross Stitch. This sturdy stitching style covers the canvas well without causing any distortion. In each kit, you’ll receive easy-to-follow instructions for Victorian Cross Stitch. You can also find written steps alongside video tutorials for Victorian Cross Stitch, the Basketweave Stitch, and the waste knot here. We offer complimentary stitching samples, so if you’d like to refine your stitching skills before starting your kit, simply fill out a request form!
